The beginning of a freelance writing job marks a new picture of the challenges and pitfalls of the career. Getting hired for the job doesn’t mean that the challenges you encountered during the hiring process is over. It only means that you are yet to start another journey wherein your writing abilities will be measured. There are four best ways on how to keep your freelance writing career up and running.
1. Write only factual contents. When I say ‘only’, I meant ONLY, because this is the most important aspect when writing your articles. You are paid simply to write, and you should write the ones that are facts. Of course, your client don’t want false information. So make sure you read and gather all pertinent information before starting your article.
2. Avoid all kinds of errors in your article. Clients don’t have enough time to edit your articles. They hired you because they knew that you have the potential for making good and quality articles, or else they wouldn’t want to waste their money on you. So the best thing to do is to proof read your work several times before submitting them. Check for common errors in grammar, spelling, and punctuations.
3. Never even think of plagiarizing. We all know that as a general rule, our clients have the full ownership of the articles that we made. So if you simply copied them from your sources, the tendency would be that our clients will face plagiarism in behalf of our mistake. That’s the very thing that they don’t like. They will surely fire you right on the spot for that. So never forget to keep your articles as original as possible. If you have references, you should rephrase, reword or revise.
4. Don’t miss deadlines. Procrastination comes once in a while. But never let it conquer your writing career. It is a bit normal to miss deadlines once in a blue moon especially during emergencies and important events. Missing deadlines simply meanings jeopardizing your job.
These are ways on how to keep you freelance writing career work and up running. They may sound so simple but they are not actually that simple for it will require your determination for the work, skills and passion for writing. So if you got what it takes to be a good freelance writer, just follow these rules of the thumb and you will never disappoint your client.

Getting into the world of freelance writing will surely require you a blast and blend of talent and skills of a good writer. You would also need a lot of patience, determination, skills and knowledge. But it is true that whether you are the world’s most popular and best writer or just a novice in freelance writing, you commit mistakes in your freelance writing job. Here are the three most common mistakes that a freelance ghost writer commonly commits.
1. Getting into the pits of procrastination. Procrastination is a common type of behavior a freelance writer usually experiences once in a while in the writing career. You may not notice that you are slowly getting into the perils of procrastination. The consequences would be late submission of your assignments and missed deadlines.
If you let procrastination conquer your freelance writing job then you are surely doomed. You will notice your clients having less interest on your works and will start to go elsewhere.
2. Being inorganized. As a freelance writer, you may be given a lot of workloads and may be catching up a lot of deadlines. The tendency is that you will have less time to research about your assigned topics, which may lead you to jeopardize your work. So moreover, you need to organize your work and have proper time management so that you will not rush things over, for time is really your greatest enemy here.
3. Writing just for the sake of it. Alarming as it may sound, but some freelance writers write just for the sake of earning money online. Remember that as a writer, you must have the passion to write since you have thousands of readers out there ready to read your works and you have a client to empress. Capture their interests by your confidence in grammar, creativity, and by being fun and entertaining.
The only thing to get into business is to get madly, truly, surely, and deeply hooked up with what you are doing. Freelance because you are in love with it!
