This is a first non-travel blog, just to thank those who have been visiting the site.  I think I am starting to get a handle on this blogging thing.  Keep your eyes open and come back often for pictures, links to places around Paris and pages filled with information.    Enjoy folks.   Thanks again and please leave your comments with ideas and thoughts.

Paris - Breakfast

Breakfast Part 1

So today I would like to talk a bit about eating in Paris.   Because I am mostly in Paris for business I tend to not have time for the big breakfast.  Also because I like to get up and see the sites I don’t really hang around.  My idea of a good breakfast is walking into a bakery or patisserie and picking up a few croissants.   There are a few really good croissant places, on the Ile St’ Louis.    The bakery is on either Rue le Regrattier or Rue de Deux Ponts.  The croissants there are fabulous.  Another decent bakery is in the food area of St. Germain du Pres on either Rue des Harpes or Rue Xavier Privons.     Both serve excellent croissants.

As for places to eat breakfast as I have said I haven’t eaten out much but I am a big fan of the crepes.   There are a few crepe places on Rue I’le St Louis which are excellent.  There is also a stand on Blvd St. Germain which is excellent.   My favorite crepes are with nutella or ham and cheese.   What a great thing to eat on the run while you are seeing the sites.

Many people tend to sit in cafes and I have done that as well.  While I haven’t been to too many for breakfast the best things in cafes to eat are either croissants or to have an omlette or quiche.   Plus most times they don’t rush you.     The best cafes are ones which are always swarmed with people outside, especially with locals.

Well that is the breakfast end of the eating. Not much but wait till you see the next blog on food.  I am going to go into detail on some of my favorite dinner places.
